Lucy is a BEAUTIFUL Siamese mix female, neutered, declawed front paws only, still has her back claws. She loves to talk to get your attention, but settles down quietly to snuggle on your lap.
Lucy loves to curl up in sunlight and nap.
Lucy is very gentle and gets along with all sorts of other pets like dogs, hamsters and even rabbits.
Lucy, about 8 years old in 2012, has been motherly to several of our animals. This Boston Terrier pup, Bailee, enjoyed snuggling with Lucy.
It was Lucy's blue eyes that caught our attention when we first saw her at the Humane Society of Central Illinois (HSCI).
Lucy's favorite place is on someones lap.
Lucy has great balance! One of her favorite activities is walking along the very narrow foot board of one of our beds. The back of this rocking chair continuously moved, but she was able to settle on it.
Warm places, even if hard to get to, are very attractive to Lucy. Even in the summer time, she will find a warm spot for a nap. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture below, but one of her regular spots is simply near a heat vent.
Lucy has a beautiful face. Blue eyes, dark eye liner, cream and white accents and a fantastic grey & white coat. She keeps herself very clean at all times.
Lucy has never had any trouble with newcomers.
Even though she is getting older, you can't tell. She loves to roll, especially on paper, and plays with feathers or string or even your toes.
Even though Lucy doesn't have her front claws, she still enjoys pawing on things. She uses the kitten's scratching posts as if they were her own.
One thing that Lucy doesn't usually like is being on her back. Many cats can be picked up and laid in your arms like a baby. Not Lucy. It spooks her just a bit. However, David has a special touch and could get her to relax on her back from time to time.
Lucy doesn't mind sharing her space. A special note about food: She can only be fed about a quarter cup of dry food at a time. She may come back for more after a bit. But if she eats too much at one time, it doesn't always stay down. It would be natural to assume that she eats any food available, but she doesn't. With multiple bowls, others can have food and she won't touch it. She will wait patiently until she is fed. She's a good girl.
Cats don't normally need baths, especially when kept indoors regularly. But Lucy as been shown at the county 4-H fair for several years now and gets a rinse off now and then. These pics are too funny not to post. She's just talking.
Lucy is very gentle.
Besides the warm light to nap on, Lucy enjoyed pawing at the glass as if she could catch a fish.
Lucy enjoys the enclosed back porch. Sunlight and fresh air.
Lucy was shown at the county 4-H fair several years in a row. This required annual shots and check-up. Her records are available at Dr. Bane's in LeRoy, IL.
This red afghan is Lucy's absolute favorite napping blanket. Anywhere the afghan goes, Lucy will go, too.
One thing I don't have a photo of is Lucy's love of being brushed. People hair brush or cat brush, it doesn't matter; Lucy LOVES to be brushed.

I would love to keep Lucy. She is sweet and loving and easy to take care of. Lucy is the one who will get along with anyone kind and gentle. I think she would make a perfect companion to someone who stays home a lot and would like someone to talk to.
We adopted Lucy (formerly Linda Lu) from the Humane Society of Central Illinois (HSCI) around may of 2005. In November 2012, she returned to HSCI and was adopted to a new home within a week.
